#17 Ways The Universe Is Communicating With You
The universe is talking to us. It’s trying to get our attention. It tries to guide us, connect with us, awaken us. There are lots of signals, but are we looking for them? Are we listening? Do we even know what to look for?
How many times have you wished you had a sign indicating the direction you should take in life?
How many times have you asked for an answer but didn’t know how to accept it?
How often do you feel alone and unsupported in your life?
When you focus on how the universe is communicating with you, life becomes less chaotic and you begin to feel more aligned and connected.
(Note: Universe, Great Spirit, Universal Truth, Source, Divine, Love, Universal Spirit, etc. are used as synonyms).
However, since we live in a physical world, we also encounter physical limitations. These physical limitations don’t exactly allow for Spirit to tap you on the shoulder and say “Yes, I think you should take this job,” so we must pay attention to the more subtle and creative ways Spirit uses to send us messages.
The key is to slow down because in general, just live life at a slower pace and be as present as possible so that you can adapt to whatever signs come up in your life.
If you are stuck in your head, worrying, overthinking, overanalyzing, rushing and busy, judging and angry, you will never realize when spirituality is trying to get your attention. You have to be present, open and willing to receive answers.
Every sign I get I consider a miracle because it has a direct connection to the source. I know that when I see a sign, the Source is there to communicate with me and guide me, and I know that I am surrounded by pure love. It was indeed a very magical experience.
The problem is, however, that these miracles are not what you imagine or how they are portrayed in the movies. There are no angels falling from the sky (at least not literally and physically), no face in the sky to talk to you and give you guidance.
These signals are less ethereal and somehow integrated into the fabric of everyday life and routine. These signs are subtle, indirect, and can be very gentle and quiet, although sometimes very loud and obvious.
The universe does not exist somewhere, it exists in everything and everyone, all around us and therefore intertwined in the ordinary moments of life.
This means you can pick up the signal while you’re in the shower, doing the dishes, arguing with your partner, or stuck in traffic. The moment doesn’t have to be glamorous for it to be a signal, but seeing a signal in one of these mundane moments definitely makes the moment that much more glorious.
Additionally, each signal that appears before you has a unique message that is unique to you and your specific situation, and you will see the signals where and when you are supposed to see them.
Because of this, signals are not a “one size fits all” trade, so you have to interpret them from both an intuitive level and a more conscious perspective. You have to put your ego and fear aside and let your intuition guide you.
Having said all that, let’s take a look at some of the ways the Source of the Universe communicates with us!
Via People
The Universal Spirit comes to us in human form. Don’t ask me how it happens, but the universe has a way of using people as vehicles to convey certain messages.
This can be accomplished by meeting a random person who may tell you something or do something that sparks something within you or triggers a deep understanding within you, provides you with the opportunity to receive a text or call from someone, hears a message on the radio, or overhears a conversation.
Obviously, not everything you hear is a signal, but it’s a signal when you’re specifically looking for an answer that’s answered by someone randomly telling you something relevant to your question. You have a gut feeling that this is too random to not be a sign from the universe. The key then is to actually follow it.
For example, if you are thinking about keeping or leaving your current job where you got a promotion and you are panicking and scared because you have to make a decision in a short period of time and then all of a sudden you get a text message from a coworker saying “I hate this job, how balabala they are….” then you feel that that is the universe telling you through this person to leave the job. This is really what happened and it truly is a miracle.
Synchronicity
Synchronicity is the random occurrence of events that appear coincidental, accidental, and related but are not connected by anything.
For example, you drive to work and see a child with a red balloon, then you go to work and someone bought your coworker a red balloon for her birthday, and then as you drive home you see another red balloon. coincide? I think not.
Synchronicities are one of the most powerful ways the Universe communicates with you, and you begin to experience them more and more the more times you begin to awaken. Sometimes you don’t even have to read too deeply into synchronicity, just recognize that there’s something bigger going on behind the scenes, something deeper than we can imagine.
Synchronicity is a direct connection to spirit and a sign that you are on the right path.
number
Seeing a pattern or sequence of numbers, such as on a license plate, or encountering the same number or pattern of numbers, such as in an address or phone number, or seeing the times 11:11, 2:22, 3:33, 12:34, etc., may have hidden meanings.
For example, if you see repeating numbers like 1111, 333, 444, 555, etc., these are signs from the universe that you are on the right path. Each sequence of numbers can also have a more specific meaning if you analyze the meaning of the numbers.
You can also see random numbers that are meaningful to you, such as your favorite number, lucky number, or your birthday. For example, you always see 11:21 on the clock because your birthday is November 21st, or you always see your husband’s birthday as 6:11 (June 11th). To me, these always show that I am connected to the Universal Spirit and that I have a loving connection with my husband.
Song/Music
Have you ever noticed a random song popping into your head? Or is there a song on the radio? Or accidentally heard a specific set of lyrics on someone else’s radio? Or hear someone singing as you pass by?
When these things are random and you feel a strong connection to the song you’re hearing, that’s probably something you should explore further.
Pay attention to the specific lyrics you hear because there may be a message there for you. If it’s a familiar song, like your wedding song, or a song that reminds you of the holidays, or a song you used to love in high school, interpret the signal’s meaning from that perspective.
Random Thoughts
An idea may pop into your head. This could be a random idea, a solution to a problem, or something you feel inspired to do. Be sure to pay attention to this and see what it means to you.
For example, if a thought pops into your head “I wonder how my brother is doing,” that could be a sign that you should call your brother because he may need your love and support right now.
Text or physical signal
Signals can be text signals with text or pictures, such as road signs, billboards, or short videos, trying to tell you a message.
For example, if you’re in a very dark place lately and you see a post that says “the darkest hours are just before the dawn,” I would definitely take that as a sign that things will get better soon.
Or if you’re wondering whether you should get off work and see a billboard with a palm tree on it that says “It’s time for a vacation,” I’d take that as a sign to take a break.
Or maybe you see a sign that says “Slow Down” and for some reason it really resonates with you, which could be a sign that you need to slow down and be more mindful in your life.
Again, there are many different ways to interpret signs, the key is to follow your intuition and not overthink it.
Dream
Information, guidance and answers can come to us through our dreams. Have you ever had an intense dream that felt very real? Who did you meet? What do they say? What happened? How do you feel? What insights did you gain?
Do you have the same dreams over and over again? What are they about? Do you see the same people, visit the same places, have the same types of experiences all the time? Research “dream meanings” to see what it might mean.
Do you often have nightmares? What are they about? Maybe it’s based on a deeper fear you have that needs to be healed.
Do you often dream about a certain moment in your life or with someone from your past? What does this mean to you? Are there any unresolved issues that need to be addressed?
Symbols from nature
Colors, flowers, animals, feathers, rocks and crystals all have meanings. Pay attention to what you see, what you are exposed to, what keeps popping up in your life, and what you are attracted to.
For example, the eagle represents higher spiritual awareness and flying high, red represents safety, stability, and good luck, and a feather falling on your lap is a “hello” from the universe and a sign that your angels are near.
intuition
When you feel like “this is right” or “something isn’t right” or “every part of me wants to do this,” it’s a clear sign from the universe.
Also, when you hear a message or read something in a book and it resonates deeply with you and you don’t know why, but it feels right and it feels real, that’s when the truth within you is awakened.
There is a deep truth within us that is connected to the truth of the universe, and when you hear this truth it begins to awaken something deep within you and makes you feel truly drawn to it. Notice this and follow it!

The universe can communicate with you through objects, such as when you find something you’ve been looking for, when an object falls off the shelf or out of a cupboard, or when you encounter an object that triggers something from your past, supports a new idea for you, or serves as an answer to a question.
For example, just when you decide to get out of debt, someone gives you a book about financial freedom. Or you’re taking a walk in nature and you see a random baby toy on the ground. Or you find a photo of a sister you haven’t spoken to in years. Or a random book falls off a bookstore shelf. These are all Spirit’s ways of trying to tell you something, it’s up to you to figure out what it is.
Technical Failure or Unexpected Circumstances
Maybe your internet is out, there’s no service or Wi-Fi, your text message fails to send, your computer shuts down, your movie won’t load or your TV isn’t working. These signs can be interpreted in different ways.
For example, if you’re out of service but want to send a WeChat message, maybe this is the universe telling you that it’s not the right time to work and you should enjoy the moment. When a WeChat message doesn’t want to be sent, maybe it’s a sign that you shouldn’t send the message, or that you should reconsider/rewrite what you wrote. If your TV isn’t working, it could be a sign that you’re watching too much TV.
Physical Symptoms
Physical pain, symptoms, illness may be the universe’s way of communicating to you that something is wrong. Your lifestyle and habits may be causing problems, such as back pain from sitting too much. This may be a sign that you need to change your lifestyle and start becoming more active.
However, some symptoms may also have a psychiatric cause and manifest as physical illness. For example, you might develop a rash due to a “longing to get out” of a situation or relationship that you don’t like.
It’s wise to explore the lifestyle as well as mental and emotional causes of a symptom so you can figure out what’s really causing it. Many times, it may be that when you heal the emotional aspect, the physical symptoms will naturally go away.
Frustrations, Obstacles, Detours and Delays
When your flight is suddenly delayed, your interview is canceled, you get sick, etc., life may be trying to push you in a different direction.
These things are usually out of our control, so it’s best not to fight or resist it, but to accept it and take it as a sign. The universe may be doing damage control to reorient you on the right path. This could also be a sign that your energy is of a lower vibration that is actually causing these setbacks, so you need to shift your energy and change your mindset to align with a higher vibration.

Many times, when everything in our lives falls apart, it is an invitation to learn to let go, to learn to detach from the world of form. This is an opportunity to awaken.
It’s also a great opportunity to rethink and re-evaluate the way we live our lives, see what needs to change, and start over in a way that’s true to who we are.

This is the opposite of everything falling apart, where you feel inspired, feel good, you are in your comfort zone, opportunities are coming your way, your desires are manifesting, you feel connected, things are working a certain way, and your life has a sense of flow. This is a beautiful sign that you are aligned with your truth and that you are on the right path.

When you are in a state of presence and you go within to connect with yourself, great wisdom is unlocked. This opens the floodgates for Spirit to communicate with you so that you can receive signs, guidance, and answers.
Surround yourself with people doing what you are considering doing
Deep down you know you should stop drinking and live a healthier lifestyle. All of a sudden, you go visit your best friend and he says he just stopped drinking. Your brother and his wife are starting a “no drinking” campaign tomorrow. Your coworker tells you how great he feels without drinking for an entire year. These are clear signs from the universe, “Yes, you should absolutely stop drinking and focus on your health!
You should pay special attention if any of the signs above occur over and over within a short period of time, or if they occur continuously throughout your life. persistence and repetition is a surefire way to tell the universe is trying to tell you something!
When these signs appear in front of you, it is important that you do not overanalyze and overthink the sign or try to understand it logically. When you overinvestigate it, it stops being a signal. The universe expresses its intelligence in extremely simple ways, only our minds and egos try to know the why, what and when. So always trust your intuition!
The point is, the Universal Spirit always has your back. It is here to guide you and give you answers. It is here to protect you and support you. It’s here to remind you that you are not alone and you don’t have to walk this path in fear, disconnection, and confusion.
The universe knows your needs before you know your needs. All you have to do is pay attention to the signs and trust that you are guided and supported every step of the way.
