#Sun Magick commonly used by witches (including sunrise and sunset rituals)

Sun Magick
Just like the moon, the sun has aspects that can be used to coordinate with your magical work and add extra energy. The sun measures time, its position in the sky indicates the time of day, and a sundial would be useless without the sun casting a shadow! I also think that point between day and night, or vice versa, that moment of handover is very special.
Phases of the Sun
Sunrise: Basically when the sun wakes up and stares at the horizon. This phase is about new beginnings, change, health, employment, renewal, resurrection and finding the right direction. It can also be very clean.
Morning: This is when the sun is getting stronger, so it brings the magic of growth, positive energy, determination, courage, harmony, happiness, strength, activity, building projects and plans, prosperity and expansion of ideas.
Noon: When the sun reaches its highest point in the sky at noon - cast spells for health, strength, wisdom and knowledge. This is also a good time to pull out tools or crystals that need recharging. (Note: Some crystals will fade in strong sunlight, so check first).
Afternoon: The sun is setting, and the energy now is great for business matters, communication, clarity, travel, exploration, and anything professional.
Sunset: As the sun rises above the horizon, cast your magic to banish depression, stress and confusion, let go, release or discover the truth of a situation.

Sunset Release Ceremony
Either sit outside so you can watch the sunset or sit in a position where you can see it through the window.
You will need:
Four Candles – The colors are your choice, but I recommend going with the colors of the sunset (yellow, orange, pink, and red). If you don’t have colored candles, white will do.
four pieces of paper and a pen
fireproof plate
Light four candles.
Write down on each piece of paper what you want to give up. It only requires one or two words.
Light a strip of paper on the first candle and place it in a fireproof dish to burn. Take another piece of paper, light it from the second candle, and put it in the dish to burn. Repeat with the third and fourth candle.
You may want to sing a hymn each time, or simply ask your intentions out loud.
Then blow out the candles in reverse order.
Finally, look at the sun below the horizon and say out loud, “My pain is over and I’m ready to start a new day.”
Sunrise New Beginning Ceremony
Using a sunset ritual as a template, you can use the spell as the sun begins to rise at the beginning of the day, using the intention of a new beginning or a fresh start.
You will need:
Four Candles – The colors are your choice, but I recommend going with the colors of the sunrise (pale yellow, white, pale pink, and pale blue). If you don’t have colored candles, white will do.
four pieces of paper and a pen
fireproof plate
Light four candles.
Write on each piece of paper what you want to start, a new project, a fresh start, or what you want to add.
Finally, watch the sun rise and say out loud, “As the sun begins to rise, I guess it’s a new beginning and a new beginning.”. Or something better than my meager poetry skills!
