#IndianAlchemy: Tattvas
Follow joya, magical every day

A few years ago, one of my Wicca students asked me with a screenshot of Tattvas, but I didn’t answer her carefully at the time. This article introduces the specific content of Tattvas in detail.
According to the Indian Samkhya school of philosophy, Tattvas are a method of understanding the five alchemical elements and how they interact, creating a logical progression for each elemental degree. These elements are first discussed in a symbolic manner and then students are taught to understand the structural theory of the elemental world.
There are six schools of thought (philosophy) about Tattvas. The original Tattva system was developed by Indian Maharshi Kapila as part of his Samkhya philosophy. 700 BC, but the roots of Tattvic philosophy date back to at least 2000 BC. Kapila’s Samkhya philosophy divides the universe into five basic Tattvic forms, which interact to form the 25 Tattvas.
The word Tattva is a combination of two other words, Tat (meaning “is”) and Tva (meaning “you”). Tattva basically means everything, what you are, the true form of everything. It is usually translated as mass/quality/energy.
In addition, Tat represents the will of God and Tva represents the individual, meaning “this (universe) is you.” Similar to “As above so below” and directly related to the concepts of the macrocosm (Tat, God’s will) and the microcosm (Tva, individual).
The Hatha Yoga school of Tattvas philosophy relates the energy of the breath (Prana) to the cycles of the five Tattvas.
The eighth chapter of Shivagama is “The Science of Breathing and the Philosophy of Tattvas”. This work describes “The universe is created in Tattvas; instrumentalized by Tattvas; disappears in Tattvas; from Tattvas we know the nature of the universe.”
Tattvas are the five variations of breath, Prana, and are described as important principles of the universe (macro) and man (micro). Prana is what the five Tatars have in common.

Pictured is the Tattvas symbol.
Tattvas time
Fundamentally, Tattvas are the stages of cosmic movement. Vibrations of the ether (important magnetic energy). Looping is the way they alternate as the day progresses. As time passes, the ruling tattvas alternate, emitting a special etheric vibration.
“The vibration of Tattvas begins with the rising of the sun. Each Tattva vibrates for 24 minutes over two hours.”
Akasha (Spiritual Element): Good for internalization, meditation, psychic work, magick, etc.
This is not a good time for business or love, as you may fail. This Tattva can lead us to make very serious mistakes.
If you work during these times, you should be very careful (artists avoid working during akasha hours, and salespeople should do the same). Every “externalizing” activity (trading, selling, romantic or friendly relationships, etc.) that begins with akasha increases the chance of failure.
For this Tattva is associated with Saturn. This time is the perfect time to practice sexual alchemy, pranayama, Ham-Sah, as akasha tends to “pull” all the energy in. Its colors are purple and black.
Vayu (Wind Element): All intelligence, speed and movement correspond to Vayu. It is what we often call the wind element. Wind, air, air traffic, automobile traffic, flying saucer research, planetary movement, the solution of spiritual problems, etc. are all related to Vayu.
During this time, people like to gossip etc.
It is recommended not to hold weddings, register marriages, etc. during this period. In Vayu, every simple and quick business is very good, but complex and long-lasting businesses may lead to failure. It is good to do intellectual work, read works in depth, study for entrance exams, etc. during this period.
Tejas (Fire Element): It is hot and its planet Mars. During this Tattva active period we feel more heat and the environment is dry.
Do not argue with anyone during the times or days when Tejas is dominant as the consequences can be severe. Utilize Tejas time for intensive work. It is not recommended to get married here as you and your spouse may quarrel frequently. If possible, do not have medical or dental procedures because there will be bleeding.
Apas (Water Element): This is the water element, the opposite of Tejas (Fire). This Tattva is great for purchasing goods. Also good for business, if you know how to utilize this Tattva, you can make a lot of money. Start job interviews in Apas, sales in Apas. Have a friendly conversation with your spouse. The water trip in Apas is great. Rainfall from Apas is usually long and heavy. Apas works through concentration and attraction.
Prithvi (Earth Element): This is the Tattva for success in life. If you want to be successful in business, do it in Prithvi. The wedding in Prithvi was a happy one. Every gathering, every meeting, every business, every conference held at Prithvi will be a complete success. Prithvi is love, charity, kindness, joy, happiness, freshness.

Calculate Tattva time
The sunrise time every day is Akasha time, after 24 minutes it is Vayu (wind element) time, after 24 minutes it is Tejas (fire element) time, after 24 minutes it is Apas (water element) time, after 24 minutes it is Prithvi (earth element) time, 2 hours is a cycle until the sunrise of the next day, and it repeats as Akasha time.
There is an APP that can directly display the current Tattvas time.
