How to reverse a ritual gone wrong - a guide for new mikos

Have you ever cast a spell, felt like a complete bad guy, waited with bated breath for the results, and then… wished you could take it all back right away?
You do a ritual, thinking you’ve got all the details right, and then suddenly everything goes wrong. Regret is real and it happens to all wizards at some time or other. Messing up the ritual here and there is just part of the learning process! Everyone makes mistakes, and sometimes those mistakes need to be addressed.
So what’s a witch to do when a spell goes horribly wrong and all hell breaks loose? Of course, it’s time to reverse your ritual…
Why reversal is needed
A witch has many reasons for wanting to undo a spell, ranging from harmless reasons like boredom to serious reasons like the risk of harming others. However, there are two main reasons why most spells need to be reversed.
1. Unwanted results Sometimes you perform a ritual and things don’t turn out the way you expected. You cast a weight loss spell, but instead of motivating you to eat healthier, it gives you food poisoning so you can’t eat for 3 days. Or you perform a small ritual on someone who annoys you, and it turns into a big ritual because you’re in such a bad mood. Or maybe that money ritual just results in you finding an unusual number of coins on the sidewalk, rather than making you rich in any useful way.
If for whatever reason you’ve cast a ritual and the results aren’t working for you, it’s time to break out of your own ritual.
2. You no longer need this spell Sometimes the reasons for withdrawing a spell are more mundane. Perhaps the ritual has run its course and it’s time to close it. Maybe that healing ritual has done its job and it’s okay to get rid of the old ritual that was given because it’s been used up.
How to reverse the ritual
Start evaluating: What do you have that ties into that ritual? Do you have any remnants of materials used in rituals? Do you have any notes about the ceremony? Logging about process or results? Nothing?
What you have will help you decide which reversal process to use. There are many ways to reverse a spell, but you need to consider your options carefully, as an ineffective reversal can make things harder.
There are several different methods to choose from.
1.Incineration residue
Burning the ritual remnants is a fairly straightforward method of breaking a ritual, unless the ritual was cast with fire. If you use fire to cast a spell, more fire will only make it more powerful. However, any other type of ritual can potentially be broken by this action. The biggest caveat to this method is that you must have leftovers! If you’re not good at saving remnants, you have to have them. If you are not good at preserving and labeling your ritual remnants, you will have difficulty with this method.
For those keeping remnants of the ceremony, the process is very simple, you just set everything on fire (be safe and make sure to use a fireproof container!). If you wish, you can chant a mantra, or add a pinch of herbs, which will help offset the energy of your ritual, but these steps are optional. Remember that nothing dangerous should be burned, don’t put plastic in the fire, and make sure any herbs involved aren’t harmful if you inhale the smoke.
2. Countercast
If you knew exactly how a ritual was cast, you could theoretically cast a ritual to counteract the first spell. To do this, it is necessary to keep detailed records of the original rituals. Unless you have a perfect memory and can remember every part of the ritual, from the words used to all the tools and ingredients, you won’t be able to undo all the parts correctly.
In order to design a counter-casting ritual, note every element of the ritual. Did you use words? Herbal medicine? tool? Is it cast at a certain time or phase of the moon? Do you meditate or use visualization? What kind of ritual do you use?
When you’ve listed every detail about your ceremony, it’s time to eliminate each item. If you are using herbs in your spell, find herbs that hold the opposite energy. If you used fire in the original ritual, use water in the counterspell. If you say a spell, write a new spell to counteract the first spell. If you meditate, create a new meditation to refocus your energy in the opposite direction. Importantly, these elements possess quite precise opposite energies. Fire will not counteract a spell cast with earth, and if you use herbs to attract love, simple banishing herbs won’t do the trick either. You need to get something concrete!
After this, take your negative list and construct a ritual out of them. If you wish, you can reverse your original spell with new counterspell elements, but if this is not possible, simply incorporating all the elements into a new counterspell will suffice.
3. Temporary pause
This method isn’t ideal, but it can be useful for stopping the effects of a ritual while you figure out a more permanent way to get rid of it. If the situation is critical and the target is about to take damage, this method can give you a few days to collect supplies, it is not a permanent solution! It doesn’t even last very long. The rituals I’ve seen only work for a week at most. This ritual should be followed by a more effective one, just to give you a few more days to get everything in order.
【Material】 a freezer A square piece of paper and a red pen black pepper Water and a small container to freeze everything
【step】
Take the slip of paper and write the original target’s name on one side. On the other side write the intention of the ritual you need to pause. Fold the four corners of the paper inwards, covering the intention of the ceremony, making it a small envelope. In this envelope, put a pinch of black pepper. Place the envelope and its contents into the bottom of your container and fill with water. Put the whole thing in the freezer. You should now have 3-5 days to come up with a better solution.
What not to do
There are many ways to deal with rituals gone bad, but there’s one thing you definitely don’t want to do. Under no circumstances should you rebound the ritual. This may seem obvious when you think about it, but the ritual reflex is a knee-jerk reaction for many wizards when it comes to annoying rituals. A reflection ritual reflects the energy of the ritual back onto the caster, which is you. You definitely don’t want to do this unless you really like the effects of the spells and want them to work for you
Ritual Residues
This is a particularly important magical hygiene issue. Many shamans immediately dispose of their ritual remnants, and for many rituals, this is perfectly fine. None of the expulsions, purifications, etc. you do need to be retained. Most other rituals require at least some thought when retaining remnants. If something goes wrong with the ceremony, then you should put all the remnants in an envelope and label the envelope with the name of the ceremony and the date. Keep any remnants for at least one moon cycle. If nothing comes out of the ritual by then, hold back a little longer. You want to observe the effects of the ritual before disposing of the residue.
If you cannot keep a remnant or have no remnants, then keep extremely detailed notes about the ritual. This will give you another way to undo a failed spell and prevent possible collateral damage.
The vast majority of rituals probably don’t need to be reversed, but if you do need to reverse a ritual, you’ll be glad you kept these things.
A non-exhaustive list of ritual remnants you should keep:
love! ! Heal prosperity/work anything you do for yourself lose weight related to mental health
A little magical hygiene can go a long way in preventing and reversing ritual mistakes. It doesn’t require much effort, and it can make your wizarding journey that much more enjoyable. No one likes to make mistakes, but having a way to make up for your mistakes is the sign of a responsible witch.
